The Diaper Bag Wrangler was "born" in 2006, when my daughter was about two months old. I remember going out to dinner at a restaurant when diaper duty called. I was in the restroom trying to change a crying infant, and find the diapers, wipes and changing pad in my massive diaper bag. I came back to my husband and said "I need something for this diapering STUFF!" so I designed a small diaper & wipes bag to contain my essentials. That evolved into our Link Loop Diaper Bag with the removable plastic ring so I could hang it from my stroller or tuck it in my regular diaper bag.
Over the last few years, we have truly turned into a true cottage industry business. Everything is handmade, by me, in my home studio. All of the product designs are my own creation and I strive to offer the best in handmade items. Although I do all the cutting and sewing, my daughter likes to help out by modeling the Little Kids Aprons and my husband is my e-commerce muse.
Before my life as a stay at home mom, I worked in the printing industry
and in merchandising. I attended The University of Kansas School of Fine
Arts and have a BFA in Design. Every now and then I teach sewing
classes through local community education programs, and I also teach
children's art at Gymboree Play and Music and also at a local library
through the ACPPA Community Art Center.
In 2008 I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. I was 30 years old
with no family history of cancer. I had double mastectomy surgery 2
weeks after my diagnosis and started chemotherapy 3 weeks after that. I
am amazed by the strength we can find when there is no other choice. You
can check out my blog for a candid and humorous account of my treatment, reconstructive surgery and life after cancer.
We live in a quiet little town in the far reaches of the Philadelphia Suburbs.
Thanks so much!!!
